Tip 1

Make sure your vase/container is clean.

A bottle with belly is advisably to use cause it can storage large amount of water, and you can keep the water line in the widest part to enlarge the contact area of water and air .

Trim 1-2 inch of stem off your flowers before you put them in a vase and each time you change the water.

Better with a sharp scissors/knife at a 45-degree angle when cutting to ensure a clean cut that leaves cells unharmed.

Cutting in the water is better than in the air .

Its difficult for the flowers to absorb water as the ends of the stem is getting dry out and the cells die ,cutting when change water can expose the fresh tissue to suck up the water efficiently.

Tip 3

Change water every 1-2days in summer ,2-3days in winter .

Sitting in the water makes flowers susceptible to bacteria . By changing the water in the vase every few days, will help keep your flowers fresh longer .

Remember to spray water and Prune leaves or blossoms that are past their prime.

Section processing method :

Cut the section into a slope when the flower is trimmed,to enlarge the area of water absorption.

Put the end of stem into the Boiling water for 10 second, clog the section to avoid the tissue and cells spill. Or,Put the end of stem on the fire for 1-2 minutes ,than cut off some charred part, and put the stem into wine for 1minand than rinse the stem in clear water .This method can not only avoid the tissue spill but also prevent bacterial infection.

Tip 5

Orderly flower arrangement

Do not put the flowers together in the vase, one by one to insert will be better, they will not be squeezed and die quickly.15.jpg

Tip 6

Feed Them

Mix in the flower preservative or flower food provided by your florist when change the water.

You can make your own flower food by adding about 1 teaspoon of sugar, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and a 1 teaspoon of bleach to your vase before adding about a quart of warm tap water. You can also mix two ounces of mouthwash with a gallon of water or add lemon-lime soda or some slat to the water to substitute for flower food.

Tip 7

Keep your flowers in cool and clear conditions

Do not place the flowers arrangement near ripening fruit or vegetables especially apples and banana.

Keep them away from heat ,bright light and cigarette smoke.

Most flowers will last longer under cool conditions.
