Choose the lightweight thread snippers in that case. They are ideal for snipping at the end of quilling papers. Also, they are small in size and quite handy in use.

Get a perfect center in the coil.

You may want the ideal coils. Quilling with the needle tool can be slower and hard as compared to the slotted tool. Fortunately, there are few methods of having the perfect center of the coil including sans crimping.

You can use the tool for tearing the small paper, and you get the best coil. If your device doesn't stand up with this twisting, you can pin it for smoothing the paper. After then create your design. Forgetting designs, use paper quilling key tag images.

Rip vs. snip.

If the look of the paper seams doesn’t attract you, rip the ends. Don’t snip it using scissors for softening it.

Roll the edges of quilling strip.

As the quilling paper gets cut, slices are made from above in downward direction. This makes both edges to get a little rolled downward. It becomes so slight that  you can’t see it with your naked eyes. However, you may feel it as you run fingers on the strip.

Forgetting an ideal coil, roll it using the curve. A downward trajectory must face the downward direction.

Make use of the needle form before using the quilling comb.

First of all, roll over the coil with the quilling needle form to form required quilling designs. After then, you can transfer the loop to the quilling comb and create the shape. This helps in keeping the center of the coil in a place and the sanity in your check.

Double up the strips for the grip of a roll.

You need to roll the coil large sometimes. More often, the center of roll breaks free of the quilling tool. You can throw it with your hand, in that case. You can avoid such situation if you double up your strip for starting the coil. This keeps it in the right place. Either double fold a single piece or use more than one strip over one another.
